& Optional Excursions |
Arrive |
Depart |
| Friday |
Seattle,
Washington |
From its sparkling skyline to its beautiful
vistas of Puget Sound, the city of
Seattle offers incredible sights, combining spectacular natural beauty and
cosmopolitan flair like few places can. An outdoor and coffee mecca,
Seattle also offers up some of the best seafood anywhere along the Pacific
Rim. Named after the great chief of the Suquamish Indians, Seattle enjoys
a fusion of American, Asian and Native American cultures you won't likely
find anywhere else. |

Cruising
the Inside Passage |
This is one of the
most famously beautiful passages in all the world. It features virtually
everything you came to Alaska hoping to see, including rain forests,
glaciers, fjords and white-capped peaks. All of which create a setting
that's perfect for viewing whales and sea lions. |
- |
- |
| Sunday |
Ketchikan, Alaska
|
In addition to being
the jumping-off point for seaplane excursions into the Misty Fjords
National Monument and its 2.2 million acres of wilderness nirvana,
Ketchikan is also the ancestral home of the Tlingit tribe. Another
"must-see" here is the world's largest collection of totem
poles. You can learn what motivates someone to turn a piece of lumber into
a towering work of art at the Saxman Native Village and Totem Bight and
Totem Heritage Center. |

Cruising
Hubbard Glacier |
Hubbard Glacier is
the one glacier in the world that does not move at a glacial pace. Quite
the opposite. In fact, in 1986, Hubbard Glacier - the largest tidewater
glacier on the North American continent - moved an average of just under
5.5 feet per hour. Keep a watchful eye as you sail through the Yakutat
Bay, as you may be a witness to geological history. Keep your binoculars handy for calving glaciers,
floating ice and abundant wildlife. |

6 pm |
| Tuesday |
Juneau,
Alaska
|
See impressive Mendenhall Glacier up close,
go whale watching or
take a Helicopter tour and walk on a glacier. Alaska's capital city,
here the pioneering spirit lives on in an interesting mix of cosmopolitan
chic and frontier ruggedness. |

Cruising

Watch closely for whales, sea lions, bears and
other wild life, including eagles flying overhead. Our onboard Naturalist
Guide will point our sightings along the way. |

| Thursday |
Victoria,
BC |
The capital of
British Columbia is also its largest island. This one-time British colony
has retained much of its colonial splendor. Victoria is a seaside enclave
that enjoys a temperate climate. Which is great, because you'll want to
explore all the museums, parks and golf courses Victoria has to offer..
Don't miss seeing the amazing Buchart Gardens. |
